Proceedings of the Executive Committee meeting

A meeting of the Executive Committee of Global Punjabi Association (Registered) was held under the Chairmanship of S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji, Patron of the Association at 95- Lodhi Estate, New Delhi on 7th November,2022 at 3:00 P.M.The following Office Bearers/Executive Members/Special Invitees were present:

The following decisions were unanimously taken by the Executive Committee in anticipation of the approval of the General House:

Agenda item no. 01

The Chairman of the meeting S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji welcomed all the Office Bearers, Executive Members and the Special Invitees for attending the meeting on the auspicious eve of 553th Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He also explained the objectives of the Association. All the members recited Mul Mantra of Sacred Japji Sahib for five times and Shabad ਦੇਹ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਰੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਕਰਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਟਰੋਂ ॥ before discussing other items of the agenda and prayed for ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ. The Chiarman requested all the members to attend the Gurubani Kirtan, after the meeting at the same venue, in which Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji will also be present.

Agenda item no. 02

It was decided that in the beginning maximum 1000 members will be enrolled, out of which 10% members, i.e 100 members will be life members. The life members will pay minimum Rs 21000 (Twenty OneThousand)as one time membership fee. They need not pay any annual subscription. The General Members will pay minimum Rs 2100 (Twenty One Hundred) as enrolment fee and they will pay annual subscription of Rs. 2100 (Twenty One Hundred) every year. The Association will feel obliged to those members who pay more than the minimum prescribed amount.

The proposed formulation of the members of the Association will be in the following categories :

Agenda item no.03

A three member screening committee was constituted for the screening of new Members to be enrolled in the Association. The members will be as under:

2. Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon – Honorary Secretary

3. Shri Manu Kapila – Life Member

Agenda item no. 04

It was decided that all payments (as far as possible)will be received and disbursed through a digital mode. All fees, funds, subscriptions, dues, arrears etc will be cleared by March 31st every year so that there is no problem in preparing the budget of the Association.

Agenda item no.05

It was decided that the Association will open Saving Bank account in the Nationalized Bank at Amritsar and the two out of three authorized Office Bearers /Executive Members/Life Members will operate the bank account. The following Office Bearers/ Executive Members/ Life Members are authorised to open and operate the bank account:

2.      Ms. Jaswinder kaur Sohal- Cashier

3.      Sh. Raman Gupta- Life Member

Agenda item no. 06

It was decided that Association will initiate the process of opening District, State, National and International Level Chapters of the Global Punjabi Association in a phased manner after thorough deliberations and discussions at various levels. At present the Association has decided to appoint the following co-ordinators:

1. S. Harbans Singh Dhillon U.S.A  North and South America

2.  S. Sukhjinder Singh Nijjar U.S.A

3.  Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal all Regions of Europe

Agenda item no.07 (Miscellaneous)

It was decided that the Association will confer Honorary Awards every year to at least two eminent Punjabis for their meritorious services to the Punjab and Punjabiyat. These awards will be conferred in the name of stalwart personalities from the history of the Punjab like Nawab Jassa Singh Alluwalia , Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa , Baba Baghel Singh, Diwan Todar Mal , Shri Nand Lal Goa, Diwan Mool Raj etc. The Executive Committee authorised the Patron of the Association S. Iqbal Singh Ji Lalpura to finalised the titles of the awards and names of the awardees.

• It was decided to established IT and digital media cell. S. Ajayveer Singh Lalpura and Sh. Manu Kapila will be the member incharges of this cell.
• The Association resolved to established Media/Social Media cell Col. Jaibans Singh and S. Ramnik Singh Mann will take the responsibility of this cell.
• The Association resolved to established legal cell under the guidance of S. Harinder Singh Kahlon, Advocate.
• It was decided to hold online meetings of the Association every month and after every three months there will be quarterly Physical meetings of the Association. The members from other countries may take exemption from physically attending quarterly meetings. In case of urgency they may online participate in such meetings.
• All the members resolved to contribute for the upliftment of Punjab as per the Objectives and Mission of the Global Punjabi Association.
• The Association resolved to take up the issues of Environment ( Water Conservation / Soil / Air ), Education & Health, Sports, Agriculture, Culture, Heritage & Punjabi Language, Promotion of Industry & Trade , Justice, Sampark ( Reachout program).
• The Association resolved to add in its objectives to take up issues concerning Punjab /Punjabis with the Central & State governments only through table talks.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chairperson.
