An online meeting of the office bearers/executive committee members/life members of Global Punjabi Association (Regd.) and special invitees was held on Friday July 14, 2023 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm under the Chairmanship of S. The following decisions were unanimously taken by the executive committee in anticipation of the approval of the general house.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 1. To confirm the proceedings of online meeting held on Thursday June 29, 2023 at 7:00 pm.

The executive committee unanimously confirmed the proceedings of the meeting held on Thursday June 29, 2023. All the members appreciated the role of s. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji in celebrating the Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Nov 07, 2022), Baisakhi Mela (April 14, 2023), and arranging premiere show of ‘Carry on Jatta 3’ (June 29, 2023). The association also appreciated the role of Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal Ji who not only organising free cancer testing camps in Punjab/India but also arranging free medicines and free medical health to the victims of recent floods in Punjab. He along with S. Ajayvir Singh Lalpura have already starting providing food, cloths, medicines through the camps in various flood hit areas of Punjab. Ajayvir Singh’s NGO Humanity First has already done a wonderful job during COVID-19.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 2. To share action taken report.

The house was apprised of the activities or assignments completed in the month of June:

• 55 lanyard identity cards were prepared and delivered to the members of GPA.
• 1000 copies of Handbook of Information were printed and provided to the office bearers for enrolment of new members. Copies of this booklet are being provided to all the members of GPA as well as to the social organisations, NGOs, and prominent citizens for promotion of GPA.
• 500 Receipt books (with carbon copy page) were printed and receipts issued to the concerned members.
• GPA websites upgraded as per the feedback of stakeholders. We are continuously improving the quality and contents of the website. All the members are requested to visit the website regularly and give their feedback to the Dr. Sarbjit Singh Sathiala, Sh. Ashray Gupta and S. Sarabjit Singh (Website Designer).
• As decided in the meeting (May 10, 2023) task specific committees were formed. All the committees have already been requested to hold their respective meeting and prepare monthly activities calendar for the months of July-December, 2023. The following committees were formed.

* N.B.: More committees will be formed keeping in view the new assignments and all the esteemed members will be thankfully assigned the duties.

• Under the chairmanship of Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura ji, Col. Jaibans Singh organised online discussion of Ex. Army officers on ‘How to deal with scars of operation blue star – 1984’.
• On June 29, 2023, S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura ji Chairperson and S. Ajayvir Singh Lalpura organised a premiere show of ‘Carry on Jatta 3’ at Ambience Mall PVR, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi which was attended by Cabinet Minister Sh. Gajender Singh Shekhawat, Smt. Smriti Irani, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi and Sh. Som Parkash. The star cast of the film: Gippy Grewal, Jaswinder Bhalla, Binnu Dhillon, Kavita Kaushik, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol etc. also attended the function.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 3. To share the proceedings of online discussion dated Monday May 29, 2023 (The discourse of Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura ji on meeting of Sikh community experts: How to heal the scars of operation blue star, 1984).

Col. Jaibans Singh apprised the house on the topic under reference which was cheered by S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura ji and the main speakers were General Sujlana, General Cheema, General Mehta, Major R.S. Gill, Major Shergill, Capt. Gurjinder Singh etc. Col. Jaibans Singh promised to put the video of this discussion on the GPA websites.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 4. To share the proceedings of informal meeting/exclusive premiere of “Carry on Jatta 3” with the star cast of the movie organised by Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura ji, Chairman NCM. The event was celebrated on June 29, 2023 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Director’s Cut, Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi as an endeavour to promote Punjabi Film Industry.

On June 29, 2023, S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura ji Chairperson and S. Ajayvir Singh Lalpura organised a premiere show of ‘Carry on Jatta 3’ at Ambience Mall PVR, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi which was attended by Cabinet Minister Sh. Gajender Singh Shekhawat, Smt. Smriti Irani, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi and Sh. Som Parkash. The star cast of the film: Gippy Grewal, Jaswinder Bhalla, Binnu Dhillon, Kavita Kaushik, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol etc. also attended the function.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 5. To discuss and finalise the celebration of, “The contribution of Punjabis in the Freedom Struggle” as a part of the celebrations of Azadi Da Amrit Maha Utsav.

It was unanimously decided to celebrate the role of Punjabis in the freedom struggle under the umbrella of Azadi da Amrit Maha Utsav. It was also decided to hold a mega function at Amritsar and for this purpose Ministry of cultural affairs, Govt. of India be approached for financial help. It was decided that focused efforts be made for the revival of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat hereafter in all meetings and functions map/logo and national flag of India be displayed as a backdrop.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 6. To discuss and finalise the role of Global Punjabi Association in rendering services to the flood affected people of Punjab.

It was unanimously decided that Global Punjabi Association, World Cancer Care and Humanity First will jointly will work for rendering services to the flood victims in Punjab. Dr. Dhaliwal promised free medicines and ambulance services in all flood relief camps.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 7. To finalise major events/functions/ festivals of GPA upto 31/12/2023.

It was decided that the association will celebrate the following major functions:

• Sep 6/7, 2023 – Janmashtami
• Nov 24, 2023 – Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s Shaheedi Purab
• Nov 27, 2023 – Parakash Purab Guru Nanak Dev Ji (at 95, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi)
• Dec 26, 2023 – Veer Bal Diwas

AGENDA ITEM NO: 8. Monthly activities to be undertaken from July, 2023 – Dec, 2023.

It was decided that in the next meeting all the convenors of the committees will come with specific proposal about the monthly events. Due to shortage of time this agenda item could not be discussed in detail.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 9. Miscellaneous if any with the permission of the chair.

1. It was unanimously decided that in future all activities, actions, functions, or celebrations of Global Punjabi association should be well planned, well prepared and discussed in the meetings in advance. No last-minute action or activities should be taken up.
2. Efforts will be made to hold a seminar on ‘Uniform Civil Code (UCC).’
3. The services of Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal Ji (World Cancer Care and Global Punjabi Association) and S. Ajayvir Singh Lalpura (Global Punjabi Association and Humanity First) are highly appreciated and applauded. Their services are source of inspiration and motivation to the other member members of the association.
4. It was decided that in future, online meeting will be on second Saturday of every month at 7:00 pm.
5. It was also considered that the formation of local committee at New Delhi will be discussed in the next online meeting.
