As directed by hon’ble Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji, the Patron of Global Punjabi Association and as desired by Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal Ji, the President of the Association; a Face-to- Face meeting of the office bearers/executive committee members, life members and special invitees has been scheduled on Saturday September 21, 2024, at :3:00 P.M at meeting hall, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar/ A-5, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar

Agenda:

  1. To share action taken report. of the previous meetings
  1. To confirm the proceedings of Face-to Face meeting No- 19 dated 10 August, 2024
  2. To discuss with the Prominent Personalities from Minority Communities, the major issues and problems of Punjab.
  3. To rename Lawrence Road, Amritsar as Maharaja Ranjit Singh Road.
  4. To establish museum in the memory of Sheer Mohammad Khan of Malerkotla, Punjab by converting Manjil Mahal into a Museum.
  5. Miscellaneous if any with the permission of the chair.

The following decisions were unanimously taken by the executive committee/ Life/ General Members in anticipation of the approval of the general house.

The decisions of Last meetings were read out to the house and these were unanimously approved.

  1. AGENDA ITEM NO :2 To share action taken
    1. Letters of thanks were written to the following for setting up of Regional Film Certification Facilitation Office at Chandigarh;

  1. Maha Shivaratri and International Women Day was celebrated on Friday March 08,2024 jointly by Hindus and Sikhs as a Communal Harmony Day at Amritsar (Rattanavali, The Mall, Amritsar and Anand Group of Colleges, NH-54, Amritsar), New Delhi and United Kingdom (U.K).
  2. On Friday March 15, 2024 Victory Day of Indian Hockey Team was Celebrated at 95 Lodhi Estate, New Delhi in which all the 11 Indian National Hockey Team veterans; Ajit Pal Singh (Captain), Brig. Harcharan Singh Boparai (Vice Captain), Shri Aslam Sher Khan, Shri Ashok Kumar (S/o Major Dhian Chan), Brig. HJS Chimni, Shri Ashok Diwan, S. Onkar Singh, V.J. Philips, B.P Govinda, L. Fernandes etc participated. Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi (Union Minister), Shri Johan Birla (Union Minister) Honoured the team. The function was hosted by Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji., Chairman National Minority Commission of India and the members of NCM.
  3. The Process to open chapters of GPA at all the 12 old district Headquarters of Punjab is in Progress. Duties have been assigned to the existing members of GPA to enroll new members and form district chapters at Amritsar, Bathinda, Faridkot, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Patiala, Ropar and Sangrur.
  4. Bhai Naunihal Singh Ji (Vanshaj of Bhai Daya Singh Ji, The First of Panj Piaras Baptised by Guru Gobind Singh Ji), Bhai Gurpreet Singh Ji (Vanshaj of Bhai Dharam Singh Ji, The Second of Panj Piaras Baptised by Guru Gobind Singh Ji ) and Swami Chander Dev Ji Maharaj were nominated Patrons of Global Punjabi Association. S. Gikinder Singh (Life Membership No. 0018, New Delhi) appointed as Sr. Vice President of Delhi Local Committee/ Chapter and S. Arjunpal Singh Marwah (Life Membership No.0028, New Delhi) appointed as National Youth President. Shri karttik Chopra Ji (Life Membership No. 0097) was appointed convenor of J&K Chapter of GPA. He will enroll GPA members from J&K and form a J&K chapter of GPA at It was also decided that Shri Karttik Chopra Ji and his team in collaboration with GPA Members will work on, “How to Strengthen Peace and Prosperity in J&K” they will arrange meeting in July 2024 and organise a seminar on the theme under reference in the month September,2024. The detailed road map will be prepared by Karttik Chopra ji, Adv. Balwinder Singh Suri in consultation with Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji. It was also decide that teams already formed, to perform different tasks of GPA will be upgraded in the light of new membership and their names will be renotified.
  5. Shri Gurmail Shamnagar has finalized the GPA song which has been approved by Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji and the recording has already been done and it will be put on GPA website after necessary editing work.
  6. The List of Members have been finalized and will be displayed on the GPA website. Identity cards will be issued to all the life members. After finalizing the Life Members, Honorary Members and General Members list their contact numbers will be added into WhatsApp group so that information/messages may easily be flashed to all the membe

AGENDA ITEM NO :3 To discuss and condemn the incidences of violence against Sikhs happened in Himachal Pradesh and Haryana: The house took a serious note of misfortunate happening happened in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. At the both the places Sikhs were attacked and injured. In Himachal Pradesh incidence of violence against an NRI family happened in retaliation to the slapping of Kangana Ranaut, newly elected Member of the Lok Sabha by a Sikh CISF Official Ms. Lakhwinder Kaur at Chandigarh Airport on June 06,2024

Another incidence of hate crime happened at Kaithal (Haryana) on Monday, June 10,2024 where two unidentified men attacked a Sikh named Sukhwinder Singh who was targeted near Kaithal Bus Stand around 10 P.M facing threat related to 1984. He was teased and thrashed by terming him as Khalistani. The House discussed in detail route cause, Genesis of the problem and measures to be taken, specially by GPA. Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji (The Patron), Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal Ji (The President), Col. Jaibans Singh Ji ( Vice President), Dr. Amanpreet Singh( Director PTU), Shri Karttik Chopra, Ms. Ruby Bindra, Dr, Manpreet kaur Dhaliwal, Ms. Brjinder Kaur Rai(Chandigarh), Mr. Parwinder Singh (New Delhi), S. Balwinder Singh Suri ( Advocate Supreme Court of India) presented their views on the problem. The house unanimously condemn these hate crime incidents and resolved to write to The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji to take effective measures to stop such incidence and maintain communal harmony and peace at every cost.

The House also resolved to organise workshops, seminars, Brain Storming Sessions, Peace Marches in collaboration with GO’s, NGO’s, Social and Religious Organisation to maintain peace and harmony in the country. It was also resolved to organise a seminar, “How to strength a Peace and Prosperity in Punjab”

  1. The House resolved to prepare the research oriented papers on this issue for the wider publicity and awareness.
    AGENDA ITEM NO :4 To organise a seminar of Intellectuals to deliberate on Political Void in Punjab and Prepare a road map of development of Punjab. The House discussed the contents of agenda item no:4 under the Agenda Item no:3. The house resolved to Organise seminars,on “How to strength Peace and Prosperity in Punjab”.
  2. AGENDA ITEM NO :5 Miscellaneous
  3. Jasbir Kaur (43 Years) younger sister of respected GPA member S. Parvinder Singh (New Delhi) unfortunately passed away in a young age on June 11, 2024. The house feels the sorrow and grief on the sudden demise of Mrs. Jasbir Kaur, Younger sister of S. Parvinder Singh and pray to God for eternal peace to departed soul and give courage to the family to bear this loss.
  4. The House resolved to congratulate the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for taking up the Prime Ministership of the Biggest democracy of the world and forming the Union Cabinet for the consecutive third time.
  5. The House resolved to celebrate the185th death anniversary of Sher-E- Punjab Maharaj Ranjit Singh on Thursday June27,2024.
  6. The House also resolved to work tirelessly for strengthening the Hindu-Sikh unity, Peace and Prosperity and Communal Harmony.
