As followers of Guru Nanak, we embody the spirit of “sant sipahi” (saint-soldiers), strong fighters like the Samurai, brave, and capable of defeating 100 enemies alone. Our Gurus, from Guru Nanak to Guru Gobind Singh, taught us the values of courage, compassion, and righteousness.

Our history boasts of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh, who exemplified Sikhism’s true spirit, showcasing bravery, kindness, and secularism. He ruled Punjab for 50 years, saving Indian society from invincible invaders.

However, our history has been marred by challenges:

– British colonial powers divided us, erased our achievements, and attacked our religious principles.
– The Gurdwara Sudhar movement lacked leadership, allowing Congress and Britishers to gain the upper hand.
– We lost Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sikhism, during the partition of India. Nankana Sahib, where Guru Nanak was born, is a sacred place that holds our roots and identity.
– Sikhs in Pakistan face persecution, while those in Indian Punjab exploit Sikh sentiment for political power.
– We suffered the 1984 Sikh Massacre and Operation Blue Star without justice.
– Unresolved issues persist, and Sikhs abroad are influenced by anti-India forces.

Now, we are out of power in Punjab due to corrupt leadership, and our Gurdwaras and religion face attacks. It’s time to:

– Unite at all levels
– Revive our saint-soldier image
– Re-emerge as a political force
– Support leaders like Narinder Modi, who have shown sympathy towards Sikhs
– Plan to secure maximum benefits for our community

Let us learn from Maharaja Ranjeet Singh’s legacy and:

– Emulate his bravery and kindness
– Foster unity and cooperation
– Promote Sikhism’s true spirit globally

We must discuss and address these challenges on social platforms to:

– Raise awareness about our history and struggles
– Inspire a new generation of Sikhs
– Build a united and strong Sikh community

Let us involve Sikh intelligentsia, bureaucrats, army officers, and selfless social workers to create a positive impact. We must be cautious of those who have misguided Sikhs in the past for personal gains.

Let us work together to revive our rich heritage and create a brighter future for Sikhism, focusing on positive planning rather than blaming each other.
