The following decisions were unanimously taken by the executive committee in anticipation of the approval of the general house.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 1. To confirm the proceedings of meeting held on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 2. To assess the work done by the GPA.

As the main objective of the GPA is to promote Punjab, Punjabi, Punjabiyat and Punjabi Culture; Hence Baisakhi was celebrated at National Level at 95-Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. It was attended by half a dozen Central Cabinet Ministers, MPs, VVIPs and Eminent Citizens. The programme introduced the GPA to the National and International Media. It was decided that the GPA will celebrate all the major common festivals of India/Punjab at regional, national, or international level. On 03-03-2023, a meeting of educationist was held in New Delhi by National Commission for Minorities under the Chairmanship of S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji. Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon and S. Harinder Singh Advocate participated in the deliberations on behalf of GPA. On April 14, 2023 (Baisakhi Day) the GPA organised a free medical testing camp at Gurudwara Majnu Ka Tilla, New Delhi which was inaugurated by hon’ble S. Hardip Singh Puri Union Cabinet Minister and S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman National Commission for Minorities. Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, S. Maninder Singh Sirsa, S. Harmeet Singh Kalka, Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon, S. Ajayveer Singh Lalpura, S. Manmohan Singh Sathiala MLA (Ex) and Dr. Sarbjit Singh Sathiala were also present during the inaugural ceremony.

On March 10, 2023 a press conference was arranged at 95-Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal and Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon addressed the press conference.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 3. To take the management operations of GPA office and websites to the next level.

It was unanimously decided during the online meeting that 100 Eminent merit-based Members of the GPA will be designated as founder members on the first come first served basis. While in the beginning, at least 200 Life Members will be enrolled. In the founder members category, due representation will be given to all geographical locales, categories of members, professions etc. It was also decided that GPA will form District, State, Regional, National and International Chapters (District Chapters will be in Punjab and Regional Chapters in India only). These chapters will come into existence when there will be substantive number of GPA members. The members will make a written request for the formation of Chapter. The Chapter will be formed by the resolution of the General House. The membership will be centralised and the chapters will enrol members only for the central organisation. These chapters will be strictly governed by the constitution of the GPA and will follow the guidelines of central organization in letter and spirit. If the central organization is convinced, at any stage, on logical and rational grounds that a particular chapter is not working as per the constitution of GPA or guidelines of central organization; in that case the central organisation, with the resolution of the General House, may dissolve such chapters. In such circumstances, all accounts, properties will be merged with central organisation. The organizational structure of the chapters will be same as that of central organization. The chapters may open and operate their bank account with the written permission of the central organization. There will be only one bank account, which will be audited on regular basis and audit report will be submitted to central office of GPA.

The issue of website and social media handles was discussed in detail. To make these devices/tools globally compatible. The following committee was formed:

AGENDA ITEM NO: 4. Opening of GPA office in New Delhi.

It was discussed, deliberated, and decided that as Global Punjabi Association is an International Organization. It should have office in New Delhi.  The office should have working Guest House, infrastructure, and requisite staff. All the members requested Hon’ble S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji, to pursue this case with the competent authorities and find out some suitable place (on Rent/Lease/Freehold/Denominational basis). Dr. Dhaliwal also assured to arrange for the funds for the office from the donors.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 5. To form the Sampark Teams.

It was decided to form Sampark Teams to contact Eminent Punjabis for enrolling as Founder/Celebrity/Life members so that their services may be utilized for the development of the association. There will be two teams (Men & Women).

AGENDA ITEM NO: 6. To Define monthly activities of different wings of GPA i.e., education, sports, culture, economic, legal, financial, editorial, social works etc.

It was decided that committee may be formed for this purpose. In the next meeting committee will come up with monthly, quarterly bi-annual, and annual calendar of activities. The committee will ensure the implementation of purposed/approved programmes as per calendar.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 7. To enrol celebrities as Life Members of GPA.

It was decided that the celebrities from different walks of life viz: Education, Health Services, Sports, Para-military Forces, Law, Social Service, Politics, Industry, Business, Finance, Entertainment, Arts, Literature etc. should be identified and the members will recommend their names to executive committee or General House for approval. Thereafter, S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura Ji and K.S. Dhaliwal will assign the duty to the members of Sampark Teams or other members to request these dignitaries/celebrities to join GPA.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 8. To record and telecast/broadcast video bytes on Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat as a regular feature.

The agenda item was unanimously approved. Social Media & Sampark Teams in specific and other members in general; will record the bytes on the subject and put on the GPA website or on other social media handles like YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 9. To Revise the Punjabi Syllabus for UPSC and other competitive exams at National and State Levels.

The continuously reducing number of Punjabis in All India and state services is a matter of grave concern for GPA. The GPA also discussed in detail the present curriculum of Punjabi language for the competitive examinations. Discussions are in process with serving and retired bureaucrats, Teachers of the Universities departments for competitive exams and competitive exams centre teachers, writers of the competitive exam material. GPA will organize brainstorming sessions with all the concerned stakeholders and come out with concrete program.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 10. To form various committees viz: Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Environment, Industry & Commerce, Finance, Legal, Event Management, Sampark, Sports, Divinity & Religious, Media (Print, Electronic and Social), Youth Affairs.

It was unanimously decided to form task-specific committees for effective, efficient, and time-bound completion of activities/programmes of GPA. The Following committees were formed: *

* N.B.: More committees will be formed keeping in view the new assignments and all the esteemed members will be thankfully assigned the duties.

AGENDA ITEM NO: 11. Miscellaneous if any with the permission of the chair.

On the suggestion of the members, Advisory Board of the GPA was formed. All the office bearers and conveners of the GPA committees will be the members of the advisory board. Based on the resolutions of the executive committee; passed in various executive committee meetings and consequently approved by the General House; requisite amendments in the constitution of GPA will be made in a due course of time.

It was decided that a national seminar will be organized by Global Punjabi Association (GPA) on ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੰਥਨ: ਵਿਰਸਾ, ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ on Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11, 2023 at I.K. Gujural Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar (Jalandhar-Kapurthala highway).

The meeting ended with the Vote of thanks to the chair and esteemed members.
